The Very Hungry Caterpillar

 On Saturday, he ate through one giant birthday cake. Actually, two!!

Elly is one year old! Hard to believe how fast that little girl has grown! I had the honor of creating a cake inspired by The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. 

I had so much fun making all of the food and cutting out hundreds of dots!

I think the dots are my favorite part! But then again, I am a sucker for polka dots!

I also made this little cake for Elly to smash! 

I also made this smiley sun to stick in the cake. It made its debut at the party because I was not convinced that it wouldn't fall over and smash the cake.

 Madison and Jack (the blur) can't wait to eat some cake!

Time to sing Happy Birthday to the Birthday Girl!

Now, let's eat some cake!!

 I had SO much fun making this cake and I'm glad everyone enjoyed it. (Especially Elly!) 

I think this is one of my favorite cakes that I have made. It always feels extra special to bake for wonderful friends!
